MAINTENANCE TIPS
How to care for a leather doctor's bag?
Of course you want your new leather bag to stay as beautiful as possible! One thing is certain: a leather doctor’s bag lives and often becomes even more beautiful as the years go by. With these care tips you can maintain your bag in optimal condition in a very simple way.

Easy to maintain
Our doctor’s bags have a long lifespan, provided they are well maintained, used and cared for. Below we give you some tips to keep your bag in optimal condition.
Tip 1 - Don't overfill your bag
Make sure your doctor’s bag is not too full. An overfilled bag quickly loses its shape and will show signs of wear earlier at the seams, bottom, closures and handles.
Tip 2 - Remove dirt with a slightly damp cloth
Due to the high quality and pre-treatment of the leather, maintaining the leather of our doctor’s bags is quite simple. Dust and dirt can be removed with a slightly damp cloth. Even after a rain shower, this won’t hurt.

Tip 3 - Keep the leather supple
To ensure the leather remains supple, you can regularly rub it with leather wax. Small scratches will disappear. This makes the doctor’s bag even more beautiful. Please note that after purchase, the leather may initially transfer some colour. This will decrease after a few uses.
Tip 4 - Use shoe polish for dyed leather
Dyed leather can be excellently maintained with shoe polish in the colour of the bag or a neutral-coloured leather cream. You can refresh and additionally protect your bag with this once or twice a year.
Tip 5 - Use leather grease for oiled or waxed leather
Oiled and waxed leather can be treated with leather grease. Note that the bag will become somewhat darker. Over time, the leather will blend in colour and develop a beautiful and unique patina.
Plant-based care product: Collonil
Subsequently, the leather can be treated once or twice a year with a plant-based care product such as Collonil Organic Protect & Care. A care product based on olive oil (never use regular olive oil). This applies particularly to undyed leather types. We do not advocate treating the leather too intensively. This can even be counterproductive and cause the natural character of the leather to be lost.
Whatever product you use, we recommend testing it first on the underside of your bag so you can assess the result before treating the entire bag with it.
