Doctorsbagshop.com has been designing, manufacturing and distributing high-quality doctor’s bags, medical bags and emergency bags for more than 20 years. In close collaboration with GPs and midwives, we develop handcrafted bags that last an entire career. With more than 200 developed models and a showroom in Maarssen, we are the specialist in medical bags for professionals throughout Europe.
Why Doctorsbagshop.com exists
More than 20 years ago, we saw a problem. GPs had to choose between old-fashioned doctor’s cases, stylish bags that couldn’t withstand daily use, or cheap alternatives that wore out too quickly. We believed it could be better. Bags that are practical, robust and stylish. Bags that last an entire career.
That conviction led to Doctorsbagshop.com.
Developed by doctors, for doctors
We don’t just sell bags – we develop them together. Our test panel of GPs and midwives tests prototypes and provides feedback after use. We process that feedback directly into improvements.
The construction that keeps the bag perfectly open during house calls? Feedback from practice. The optimal compartment layout for overview in emergencies? Developed with GPs. The robust locks on which we offer a free repair service for McFermoir bags? Tested until they proved reliable.
This is how our bags are created: by listening to people who use them daily.
Artisanal craftsmanship
Over the past two decades, we have developed more than 200 different models. We keep our core models in stock, supplemented by seasonal collections and special editions. We produce in collaboration with bag workshops in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Italy. These workshops have been making bags for more than 50 years.
Every bag is handmade. McFermoir is our own brand, developed since 2007. The leather we use is vegetable-tanned and comes from Europe. Environmentally friendly and sustainable.

All bags are manufactured without child labour. Our European tanneries work according to strict guidelines to protect people and the environment.
We continue to innovate with sustainable materials – from cork leather to mycelium – without compromising on quality.
Unique character of leather
Every doctor’s bag is unique. We work with natural leather, which means small characteristics such as insect bites, neck folds and colour variations may be visible. This gives the leather an authentic appearance.
The more you use the bag, the more beautiful and supple the leather becomes. A patina develops – a natural shine and colour deepening. The more you use the bag, the more beautiful the leather becomes. Your bag gets its own story through use.
The showroom in Maarssen
A doctor’s bag is an important purchase. That’s why we have a showroom in Maarssen where you can view, feel and compare all models by appointment. Colours vary per screen – in real life you’ll see the actual colour. You can put your own instruments in the bag to test the size.
